Full Job Description
We are looking for a skilled Accounting Clerk to perform a variety of bookkeeping and financial tasks and fill the rest of their day with administrative tasks. Responsibilities include keeping financial records updated, preparing reports and reconciling bank statements. Process accounts payable and receivable, disbursements, expense vouchers and receipts. A successful accounting assistant should be familiar with all accounting procedures and have a flair for numbers. Ultimately, this person will ensure that the company’s daily accounting functions run accurately and effectively. Interacting with the public is part of the job. Candidate will be able to hold conversation in person, by phone and email in a concise and professional manner.
Responsibilities
  • Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department
  • Answer phones, emails and paper correspondence
  • Process A/R and A/P transactions
  • Type accurately, prepare and maintain documents and records
  • Prepare bank deposits, general ledger postings and statements
  • Reconcile accounts in a timely manner
  • Daily enter key data of financial transactions in database
  • Provide assistance and support to company personnel
  • Research, track and restore accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies
  • Inform management and compile reports/summaries on activity areas
  • Function in accordance with established standards, procedures and applicable laws
  • Constantly update job knowledge
Skills
  • Proven accounting experience, preferably as an Accounts receivable clerk or Accounts payable clerk
  • Applicant must also be organized, detail oriented and punctual
  • Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures
  • Competency in QuickBooks Online, Office 365, database and accounting software. TSheets/QuickBooks Time experience for employee hour tracking will be helpful
  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Aptitude for numbers
  • Ability to perform filing and detailed record keeping tasks
  • Data entry and word processing skills
  • Well organized
  • Associate’s degree in Accounting or Business preferred
