James Delcour, Controller at Fire Safe Council of Nevada County, has a Bachelor of Science with an emphasis in Accounting from Oklahoma Christian University. He worked as an auditor and tax specialist with the Big 4 accounting firm KPMG in Anchorage, Alaska and with a small local accounting firm in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He has over 9 years of experience working as an internal auditor with a large international humanitarian non-profit. This allowed him to work in diverse multi-cultural offices around the globe including auditing the organizations humanitarian responses to the 2010 Haitian earthquake and the 2011 Tsunami in Japan.
James is also active in his local community. He coached Little League for 5 seasons in Virginia and served on their Board of Directors. He also served as the Treasurer of Penn Valley Little League after relocating to California. He currently is the Treasurer of the Rough and Ready Grange and is a member of several other community organizations.
James proudly served in the United States Navy from 1992-1997 onboard the USS George Washington CVN-73 completing two six-month deployments to the Mediterranean Sea and the Persian Gulf.
